Built to move.

Motion is the first Goodsole made for pace. A breathable engineered-knit upper hugs the foot, a sculpted foam midsole soaks up the ground, and the GDSL mark sits large on the side because this one was never meant to hide. Black knit over a crisp white midsole: the pairing that goes with everything you already own.

Underneath is something new for us: a dual footbed system. Two footbeds in the box — the everyday Goodsole footbed you already know, and a performance footbed for the days you pick up the pace. Swap them in seconds and the shoe changes with you. No break-in, designed in New Zealand for the track, the commute and the long walk home.

Every pair ships with two footbeds: a cushioned top layer that absorbs impact, over a firm, contoured base with the arch support built in. Your arch is held up rather than sinking into foam, which is the thing people mention most after the first week. Wear both. If you want more room, lift the top one out and the arch support stays where it is.

Our 2001 Parallel and Crossroads styles run about half a size smaller than our other styles. If you're between sizes, go up. Size guide.

Waterproof before the first wear and top up now and then. Suede: dry brush and waterproof spray. Leather: a damp cloth, with leather cream occasionally. Canvas: cold water and mild soap. No washing machine.

A tree planted for every pair. Footbeds made from 25% plant-based material, covered in 70% recycled fabric. Leather from Leather Working Group tanneries. Organic-cotton laces and dust bag, and a recycled-cardboard box with a fabric handle, so no extra bag. More on Treadlightly.

A flat sneaker gives your arch nothing to sit on, which is fine at 9am and a different story by 5. Every Goodsole sits on a contoured Dual Core footbed with the arch support built in. It is the thing people mention most after the first week: not the colour, that their feet stopped aching.

There are two footbeds in the box. A cushioned top layer over the firm, contoured base. Wear both, and most people do. Lift the top one out if you want more room, and the arch support stays exactly where it was.

Made with 25% plant-based material and 70% recycled fabric, with activated carbon to keep them fresh. Hand washable.

I was so looking forward to receiving them

I was so looking forward to receiving them, but unfortunately they just don't work for me, heels are just too high, they push me onto my toes too much. I've tried both sets of insoles, neither quite work.
The shoes are also just a tiny bit too small, and that causes pressure on my toes.
Such a shame.
