Treadlightly

Behind the Craft

We believe in making sneakers the right way. That means quality materials, ethical manufacturing, and a genuine commitment to the people and planet behind every pair.

What We Stand For

Product. Planet. People.

Product

Designed for longevity, not fast fashion. Timeless silhouettes built to last — not to be replaced next season.

Planet

Responsibly sourced materials, LWG-certified tanneries, and a tree planted with every pair sold.

People

All factory partners sign our supplier code of conduct — fair wages, safe conditions, and respect for every worker.

Responsible Materials

Made With Intention

Our sneakers are crafted using leather that is exclusively a by-product of the meat industry — we never source hides for their own sake.

We partner with tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG), the world's leading environmental certification for leather. LWG ensures third-party audited standards across water and energy use, waste management, and chemical handling — giving our customers confidence in how their sneakers are made.

Long-Standing Partnerships

We work with a carefully selected network of manufacturing partners, many of whom we've held long-standing relationships with. We visit our factories regularly, working collaboratively — not at arm's length.

All partners sign our supplier code of conduct and acknowledge our Modern Slavery Statement, ensuring internationally recognised standards for employee well-being and environmental responsibility.

Treadlightly

How it Works

With our Treadlightly programme, we're committed to restoring the balance between people and the planet. Here's how it works:

1. Give one: For every sneaker purchase, we plant a tree contributing to restoration efforts.
2. Give two: Each pair includes a QR code inside the box. Scan it to choose a charity you'd like us to support on your behalf.

Every pair is tracked and attributed, so your contribution goes directly to the cause you care about.

Our Charity Partners

One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Our projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and environmental organizations to create lasting impact for nature, people, and wildlife.

Sustainable Coastlines

Sustainable Coastlines are a New Zealand charity that exists to protect the moana we all love by bringing people together to reduce plastic pollution and other litter.

Our goal is to see 60% less litter on the coastlines of Aotearoa New Zealand by 2030.

charity: water

charity: water is a nonprofit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people around the world.

With a radically transparent model that sends 100% of public donations straight to the field, charity: water funds sustainable water projects in areas of greatest need and works with local partners to implement them. The organization proves every project, using innovative technology and powerful storytelling to connect donors with their impact.

Youthline

Youthline is a “with youth, for youth” organisation that supports young people throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. We have been providing support to Kiwis aged between 12-24 years for more than 50 years.

Youthline is here to support all young people – this includes young people who are struggling (with their mental health or other issues), as well as young people who want to learn, grow and give back to their community.
